Greatest Gift

18 August 2009 No Comments

I was talking with my hydro-therapist today about relationships. She said to me that most people enter commitments with the idea of, “Ok, what can I get out of this? What’s truly in it for me? How do I benefit from this?”

She couldn’t be more correct.

We oftentimes unknowingly sabotage our relationships because we don’t have the right intentions. We want to believe that the other person “owes” us happiness, rewards and pleasures. Why is it hard for us to know that the greatest gift in life is love. With love comes sharing.

Today, instead of wondering what you are going to “get” out of the relationship, try thinking of ways to give of yourself. Today, ask yourself, “What was I born to give?”
