Beauty & The Bull
“Beauty is to the Bull like water is to the body. It is a necessity one cannot have life without.” — Penna
Welcome to the Month of Taurus. Taurus is the second month of the lunar year, and is ruled by the planet Venus. What do we know about Venus? Venus is a representation of beauty, love, grace and light- brilliant, dazzling light. Therefore, the month of Iyar is known as the Month of Light.
This month is a delightful month, a month of astonishing “shine”. Not a bling, but a shine of our greatest inner-light. As you see, this month is full of light!
Taureans value beauty; which, beauty means the most to them. They understand that beauty cannot be owned, only appreciated. The greatest indication of value to a spiritually mature Taurean is beauty.
No other sign in the zodiac is closer to earth than Taurus. Therefore, their main concern is physical pleasures, stability, comfort, contentment. We can use the energies of the month of Taurus to find our inner stability, personal pleasures, comfort zone and satisfaction. Or, we can use the energies to explore the world, become less conventional (become eccentric, different, unique and individualized). We can also use the Taurean energy to become less stuck in the same-ole’ ways of life that we’ve always led.
Taureans love comfort, so this month is the perfect month to break out of our comfort zones and our cozy little bubbles, and go out and play an active role in the world. This month is a great month for interactions with those around us, and especially with people we don’t already know. We can use the Taurean energies of smugness, self-satisfactory, complacency and resignation, to become the opposite of these traits this month. Let’s try to express our joy outwardly and with great excitement, instead of keeping our happiness concealed. Let’s share our thoughts and opinions with others, instead of being introverts. Let’s get out of the house and go out into the world; perhaps a theme park, or an amusement park.
We know our Taurean friends to be pleasantly calm, serene, undisturbed (and hate to be disturbed!:-), docile and pretty obdurate. They love to stay in their tranquil bubbles, cutting themselves off from the world- or, at least, from “negativity”. But, doing this will only keep them unconscious, unaware, totally asleep. We can take advantage of the Taurean like traits by taking ourselves off auto-pilot and going out into the world to make decisions. We should be a part of the world, not hiding from it. All-in-all, Taureans fear change.
What do we know about fear? We know that fear isn’t real. But, the most important thing to know this month is: without change there is no growth. If you have a fear of change, you are completely stuck. Stuck in your ways, stuck in your own world; you are a prisoner of yourself and your fear.
Taureans are generally modest, slow to anger, gentle, excessively faithful and generous. However, Taureans see no need to hang out with anyone outside of their specific group or social rank. Again, this goes back to them being way to comfortable and in their tiny little cozy bubbles (complacency). We can take advantage of this specific Taurean energy either by learning to become more faithful to our specific group of people we associate with, or we can use this month as a opportunity to seek friendships elsewhere. Who says we have to live our lives confined to one specific group? What’s wrong with having a wide range of friends who posses their own unique talents, gifts, personalities and abilities?
Because Taureans are the closest sign to earth, they are primarily concerned with material value, and they will do anything it takes to maintain status quo . We can utilize these energies to become smarter workers. This month we can focus on gaining whatever material assets we’ve had our eyes on. As we know, our Taurean friends have an extreme love of beauty, luxuries, fine wines; a strong aesthetic taste. This month should be the month to go out to art museums, go wine tasting in the country, enjoy an opera or just simply go and enjoy a great musical. Taureans seek these kinds of pleasures. And, we can use their energies to go out this month and enjoy the beauties of these wonderful things as well.
Some Taurean traits we want to be on the lookout for this month are being overly self-righteous, unoriginal, smug, argumentative, ultraconservative, querulous, self-centered and rigid. Yes, we have a lot to look out for this month. Everyone is affected by the energies of each month. And, each month brings about different sources of energies that we can take advantage of.
This month, find your inner-light. Take advantage of all of the many beautiful things the world has to offer by bursting that bubble you’ve been so cozied up in. Learn to be dependable and faithful. Step out of your self-righteous corner and explore the world through exploring other people. Make decisions by taking on an active role in a community other than your own. Discover the many talents that you have by actually trying something new out. Most importantly, get past your fear of change. The energies of this month suggests the opportunities to defeat all inner-doubts and fears. Change is constant.

Beauty & The Bull
When she awakens in the morning, her beauty awakens with her.
Beauty is to the Bull like water is to the body.
It is a necessity one cannot have life without.
Her magical glow covers her like a halo from a ray of sun.
She is his halo.
When the Beauty teases the Bull, it isn’t a red cape that he sees – oh, no!
It is the aura of her sensuously beating red heart.
Beauty blurs his vision and takes control over his animalistic senses.
When he is snooting and stomping and welled up with fire, it isn’t anger fury we see.
Oh, no – we have it all wrong!
It is his frustration and impatience to such intense erroneous arousal he feels.
He wants his Beauty NOW!
He is anxiously charged with desirous lust and dangerously passionate longings.
Of all the physical pleasures that she is more than willing to offer to him.
He wants his Beauty NOW!
The Bull’s Beauty is his prize. She is his pride.
