When We Hurt Others

1 May 2009 No Comments

“You will never fully understand someone’s reason for hurting you.  That same someone will never fully understand your reason for hurting them.  The reason why does not matter, because there is no growth without pain.” — Penna

We hurt others because we ourselves are hurting.  When someone hurts us, we can never find it in our hearts to forgive them.  But, yet we can never seem to remember that we’ve done our share of hurting them too.  See?  It’s a cycle of hurting each other.  And yet, we want to always be the “victims” of their crimes, don’t we?

What goes around comes around.  This is why it keeps coming back around.  When we hurt others, even if it was years ago, it will come back.

Today, before you judge someone else for hurting you, don’t forget that you were once in a position of hurting them as well.
