Hatred for No Reason
“When you hate others, you are really only hating yourself. For, hatred itself is only real to the person who is doing the hating. Your hatred cannot affect someone else unless it affects you first.” – Penna
Have you ever walked into a place for the first time and noticed that someone is hating on you? For no reason? I mean, they don’t even know you, have never seen you before, have never heard of you before. But, they just find it within themselves to just hate you?
Have you ever done the very same thing to someone else?
Hatred is a severe growling beast that wells up inside. Hatred, just like anger, is a false idol. And we can sometimes become worshipers of those idols, if we are not careful. We worship idols when we give into their control. When we become angry, that’s worshiping an idol. When we hate, that’s worshiping an idol. When we gossip, that’s worshiping an idol. When we become jealous and envious, that’s worshiping idols. I think you get the picture.
Idolatry is the worship of any person, object, place, idea or situation that provokes a negative thought, feeling, behavior or speech from you- which you have no absolute control over. In other words, if someone can push you to anger, that person is your false idol (and you are worshiping that person), because they have enough control over you to arouse a reaction. And, once you react, you have lost complete control to that person. You have lost complete control to the false idol of anger, as well. It’s all a lose/lose situation.
What is hatred? Hatred is loathing, extreme dislike, animosity, hostility, detestation, and extreme aversion. Hatred is also a negative selfish feeling that one has when it comes to others’ happiness, life, joy, possessions, friends, success. Hatred can manifest itself through thoughts, feelings and emotions, actions and even speech. Speaking the evil tongue (which is known as “lashon ha-ra” in Hebrew) is a very powerful form of hatred. And, it is also considered a very major sin. Words carry tremendous power. In one of my previous weekly articles, Words Have Formidable Power, I explained much about this.
The feeling of hatred isn’t a positive and self-assured feeling, but a feeling of fear. Did you know that we only hate out of fear? Without fear, hatred- in fact- could never exist. It is fear that clouds the truth in every single situation we face (negative or positive). For most of us, fear is what drives our choices. There are only two types of consciousness in this world: fear based consciousness, or clear consciousness. Hatred is a part of the fear based consciousness.
The feeling of hatred is what creates the chaos in this world, in your life, and in the lives of others. It’s always always better to choose forgiveness, kindness, love and attraction over animosity, as there are always ways to feel safe, secure, and loved. Always!
Hatred is the cause behind the many wars that we’ve experienced, and will experience again- if we choose not to wake up. Hatred is the cause behind greed, rape, envy, chaos, violence, racism and prejudice, differences in religion, and the ultimate up-rise of evil upheaval in this world. Amazingly, people hate but they are not even aware of their hatred. They are not consciously strong enough to recognize their own hatred, or even realize when they are experiencing, or displaying hatred. This is why we need to Wake Up!
This week, love with all of your might. We are so desperate of creatures to hang onto what all we know. Love has all the answers. Your heart center is all that matters. When we love each other, we create truth with NO boundaries. When we love, We are forgiving, honorable, healthy, happy; we also practice integrity and honesty. Hatred cannot dwell in the heart of someone who loves, as love and hatred cannot co-exist.
When can we look at each other and love each other from our inner-most being? We are all the same. We are born of the same God. We are all chosen people. So, why do we allow hatred? Why do we experience jealousy, resentment, anger, envy, greed, victim consciousness?
Did you know that where there is love, there is no lack? Through love, you lack for nothing. You always experience abundance and wealth, joy, health, happiness and freedom. Hatred has no prominence in my life. I love all people, no matter what. This stems from being unconditional. Just like the greatest teachers taught. I love no matter what. And, I will continue to love. No matter what. This is the only way of life!
