Make Amends

11 April 2009 One Comment

“The only way to skip your karma is to make honest amends with those you have harmed; even if you don’t know them.” — Penna

There is never a need for arguments and fights. We all have so much to teach each other- that there should only be room for discussions, and never “yell fests”. We have so much information and wisdom to learn, but we can only learn through humility and truth. Every person has something to teach us. Even if it is through confrontation. We may view conflict as something negative, but oftentimes lessons come to us packaged as conflict.

We only view chaos as negative because we become humiliated through the process. And, as you know, humiliation is the most powerful form of fear there is and, is the most difficult crime against us that we find most difficult to forgive.

Today, tell that person, “stop fighting with me!” Make amends with the person (or people) you are at odds with. It’s never worth it to hang onto grudges and those negative aspects of a person. Say, “farewell to arms” and bring the peace to those individuals, and to everyone you meet today. Forgive for them. For, they know not what they do. Neither do you. So, in return, forgive yourself for your negative actions, as well.
