What Was I Born To Give?

25 March 2009 3 Comments

“I was born to give to you my heart, my help, my hope, my health. I was born to give to you my truest me.” — Penna

We always ask what we were born to get. But, do we ever ask “what was I born to give?”

In life, we lean towards self-centered selfish tendencies, and we never take the time to check on someone else. We never take the time to care for others because of our own emotionally addictive needs. It is in our nature to be takers and not givers. “For each his own” they say. But, did it ever occur to you that we are responsible for everyone in this world?

It is our job to make sure that everyone around us, whether we know them or not, is safe and secure, well taken care of and is loved beyond reason. It is our job to help each other.

Wouldn’t you want someone to help you? So, what was I born to give?

Today, figure out your many gifts, talents and attributes. Figure out what it is that you were born to give to someone else besides yourself.

What was I born to give? I often ask the definition of my existence. I do believe that the same energy we put out, the universe must repay us in that same measurement. So, when we learn to give more of ourselves and not take all the time, the rewards of giving cannot be measured. Thank you Penna for your encouragement.
