No Explanations Needed

29 March 2009 No Comments

“Sometimes in life there are no explanations needed for the actions we cause against each other. For the rest of our lives we will always do things that will be considered unpleasing.” — Penna

There is never a need to explain ourselves to others, nor have them explain themselves to us. This reason is not a selfish decision, but a rational decision. This may sound a bit harsh. And, this may sound like a way to have an excuse for bad behavior towards others- without needing to explain why we commit certain actions against them.

There are days when we will feel “not ourselves”, or sometimes we will act in ways that bring out the negative sides of our characters to others; maybe even to ourselves. Every person does things against their normal doing, every once in a while. We were not born perfect, nor whole.

In the morning sun of the next day we eventually realize our faults. So, no need for reminding ourselves and others of the negative deeds we’ve previously committed.

The obvious explanation is that we can become impatient, impulsive, selfish, un-giving and uncaring. But, that does not determine who we really are as a person.

Today, stop explaining yourself. If you have great friends (like me :-) , they already understand. Besides, it’s not like they are perfect themselves. Give up the reason to know why things happen as they do, and instead embrace forgiveness. Because, if someone actually gave you a reason or explanation of why a certain situation took place, you would still wonder if that explanation that they gave was the truth. Think about it.
