Last year, I was walking through the Beverly Center’s garage with my best friend, and two guys stopped me. One asked with wide eyes, “Wow, you must be somebody?!” At first I was extremely flattered.

But, it wasn’t until I got in the car when I realized what he had said. I was so ashamed to have been flattered at such a question.

In the moment I thought I was so “special” because someone would ask me that. But what about my friend? And, more importantly, what about the guy himself that asked me? Doesn’t he think himself special?

I looked at the situation and tried to come up with a reasonable explanation. There is none.

Today, know that YOU are special. No matter what. In the world many people do not express that to you. But, know today that you are special. Always.
