Material Girl: The Month of Capricorn
We just left the wonderful month of unlimited miracles, and can now enjoy the material world during the month of Capricorn. Capricorns are all about hard work, so we know that this is the best month to do our best work- and pull out all the stops (i.e. dig our heels in). Capricorn is the most materialistic sign of the zodiac, and tend to live predominantly in the material world. Partly because they feel that this is the only world available to them. All their thoughts and feelings tend to be connected to physical matter. As so, we can take advantage of the physical aspects of reality this month.
Capricorn is a month to work hard, even if the hard work is driven only by the desire for material wealth. Nevertheless, this is definitely the month to discipline ourselves enough to pull those old projects off the shelf and make good use of them [as Capricornians are over-achievers]. This is a great time to grab onto our confidence and find our independence and stability.
Because we know our fellow Capricornians are extremely hardworking, persevering, practical and responsible we know that we too can develop those traits this month to be able to tackle any task and see it through to its final stages. We are able to accomplish any goals we’ve set for ourselves. It’s okay- especially this month- to set high standards for ourselves and others, so that we can continue pushing and striving. We know that in order to reach our highest potential we must continue to reach and stretch ourselves.
This month would be a great month for honest self-criticism. Not in a demeaning way, but for personal growth. It’s a good month to figure out the exact areas in our lives that need earnest improvement. For most of us, it’s very difficult to face the negative aspects of ourselves. This month is the best month to eradicate all personal negativity.
Capricorns love to explore their ambitions, therefore being able to work on several projects simultaneously. We can use the energy of Capricorn to become better multi-taskers.
The traits of Capricorn to be watchful of this month are becoming too demanding, being uncharitable, cold and dry, self-centered, unemotional, unsympathetic, pessimistic, and being bound to matter and limitations. We just left the month of miracles, and hopefully we all wished upon happiness for this New Year. This month can trap you into feeling that you are limited. One point to keep in mind is that we live in an abundant universe. Therefore, we are never bound by limitations other than our own.
We all know our Capricorn friends to be reserved and not very talkative, and take a very long while to warm up and smile, as they are very careful and cautious. This month, we can break away from those insecurities by extending our help and hope towards others. We don’t have to be precautions because no one is trying to harm us.
If we’ve ever had dreams of becoming materially wealthy, this is the best month to play out those fantasies. This month, spend hours in meditation to live out your most intimate fantasies and dreams. Meditation also helps against pessimism and doubt. Go within and know that all that you are seeking is right there in your silence. It’s quite alright that no one will understand your demeanor this month of self-seeking, but you will find the result truly rewarding.
This month, flock to your musical side. Try learning to play a new instrument, or go to vocal classes. Capricorns love to explore their musical side. Whatever you do this month, try not to become a hermit. Give as much of yourself as possible- to everyone you meet, especially the lovey side of you. Adopt the showgirl side of you. Become expressive!

“The ideals which have lighted my way, and time after time have given me new courage to face life cheerfully, have been Kindness, Beauty, and Truth. The trite subjects of human efforts, possessions, outward success, luxury have always seemed to me contemptible.”
— Albert Einstein (1879 – 1955)
