Drenched Umbrella
“Just as you leave your drenched umbrella at the door when you step in from the pouring rain, leave your drenched ego at the door when you step in from a world of nonsense and blame.” — Penna
It’s raining today. But, I don’t need my umbrella because I’m staying in. Not because I’m avoiding the rain, but because I need to do some checking up on my ego. I’m using this opportunity to figure out where I’m placing blame on others. And, where I need to clear out the unneeded and unnecessary garbage in my life. (i.e. nonsense in my life).
When you recognize the garbage in your life, it’s a lot easier to get rid of it. But, when you place blame on others, you are holding on to your drenched ego.
Today, step in from your world of nonsense and blame. Leave your drenched umbrella (i.e. drenched ego) at the door this time, and see how that works out for you.
