Why Am I Reacting?

9 December 2008 No Comments

Why do I sometimes see others in a negative light?

The universe always provides us with mirrors of people with traits that spark a reaction in us. That’s because these people are strategically placed in our lives to show us what we need to work on inside. If those behaviors were not inside of us, then we would have no reference point to identify them.

Most of our reactions to other people’s behavior are fear-based reactions. Here is a great exercise I like to practice whenever I find myself in a reactive state: “What exactly are my fears? Why am I reacting to this situation? What is being mirrored for me?”

Today, really be mindful of how often you judge someone. Remember, that negative trait you are judging in others is the same negative trait you are judging in yourself.
