Les Desirables: Understanding the 4 Ys

16 November 2008 No Comments

Last week, I explained why having balance (yin and yang) is essential to obtaining success (i.e. desires).  This week, I’d like to go into detail about the importance of having desires. (It is probably best to go back and read last week’s article The Balancing Act.  You may also want to go back and read the articles Coming to Terms, and 4 Ys, as well).

Quoted from 4 Ys: It all starts with yen, a great desire. In obtaining anything you have to desire it first. Not just a desire, but a strong (sharp) one. Without strongly desiring something, it is impossible to reach it. You must have desires in order to receive anything. Why is having a strong desire so important? Without desires you cannot create; nothing would exist. Having a desire is fundamental so that you are able to visualize. Once you visualize, then you are able to invest energy into it; therefore creating exactly what you want, exactly the way you want it. Say, for instance, you want a new car; a Mercedes. You first came up with the idea that it’s time for you to get a new car. That idea then turned into a desire. But, as time passed, you began to crave it like no other. That is called a strong (sharp) desire (yen)….

What is a desire?  Why is having desires so important in life?  What can I get out of having desires?

When you have a strong desire for something, it begins to move from the head level to the heart level.  Once the desire reaches the heart you are in full agreement with it.  To live in coordinance with a desire, both your head and your heart have to agree.  I call that living in balance with your desire.

Without a strong desire, your dreams will barely- if at all- realize.  The lack of strong desires creates lack in many other areas of your life.  If you truly do not want something, you truly will not invest energy into making it happen.

Having strong desires is as important as having a healthy balanced diet.  When you long for something, the energy behind that craving begins to work towards manifestation.  There has to be strength behind a desire in order to see it through.

We all have desires.  We all need desires.  Desires are what help us to live, to create, to explore, to take risks, and to dream.  We build our hopes and wishes on desires.

Desires are the magic within the sparkles of light that drives us to move forward.  Desires are the internal motivational speeches that pushes us to continuously stretch ourselves to greatness.  Desires are those tingly sensations we feel, and the beautiful colorful rainbows of hope we see.  Desires are our clarity into the unseen world.  Desires are our visions.  Desires are our life!

This week, don’t cheat yourself by holding back.  Become a desire-aholic!  The more desires you have, the greater your chances are of receiving them.

P.S.  This week, don’t forget to write down your desires!
