Better Late Than Never
“I’ve been on a calendar, but I’ve never been on time.” –Marilyn Monroe
I feel that it’s better to be late than to never produce anything at all. I’m running so behind on my Inner Princess Insights, but it is my commitment to you to always produce- even in the midst of tardiness.
Today is about cleaning up our tardy acts. If we are going to be tardy, shouldn’t we still live up to our commitments to others, and especially to ourselves? I’m sure you’ve heard the saying, “your word is your bond”, right? Well, that bond still matters even when we are late honoring our commitments.
In the past, I’ve put a lot on my plate. I’ve made agreements, not only with myself, but with several different people for projects and personal obligations. Although I am late most of the time, I think that it is very important to still deliver what I promised. No excuses.
Last week, I decided to increase my 20-hours a week dance and fitness classes to 30-hours a week. That is 10 additional hours per week that I’m in the gyms and dance studios. That now means, 30 less hours a week to be at my office working on deadlines that need to be met.
So, how will I ever balance my time? How will I ever get anything done? I made a commitment to increase my workouts; not to dismiss my work.
Today, get rid of those ridiculous excuses for why you are not able to meet your commitments. Stop making time the excuse. The reasons why we load our schedules is so that we can get as much done in a day as possible. Not only for ourselves- but for those special people that we love.
