Taught In Love

“You cannot antagonize and influence at the same time.” –J.S. Knox

Whenever you are teaching someone a new sport, craft, trade- or whatever it may be- it is better to teach with patience and understanding that they may be new at it. I’m sure that when the person came to you for help they saw a great teacher in you, and did not expect to be antagonized.

An influential person not only knows how to be charismatic, but honest as well. A great teacher will know how to translate her skills well, without being overly critical and insensitive to the other person’s needs. Besides, you cannot greatly influence anyone if you are opposing them.

Today, try not to be so antagonistic in your approach. A student learns best when the lesson is being taught in love.
