Weight of Wait

21 September 2008 No Comments

“The more weight you have hauling behind you the more you have to wait for anything good to happen in your life.” –Dr. Caroline Myss

What does this mean?  How does having weight affect your wait?

Let me explain…  let’s say that you are packing up to move to a new home.  The move is taking so many months because there is so much stuff to pack.  But, not only is there so much to pack, but you have to haul ALL of those things with you to your new place.

The weight of the load in the moving truck has caused you to run very low on fuel and have to stop twice and wait for gas.  Stopping twice for fill-up has pushed you to wait for the move into another hour.

Had you thrown out all the old, unnecessary and unneeded items (the junk), then the pack would be much quicker and the haul would be much much lighter.  The weight of the haul has been lifted, so the wait of enjoying your new home is shorter.
You wait for healing, love, comfort, stability, finances, that perfect soul mate… you name it.  But the weight you carry includes the experiences of inadequacies, loneliness and depression, sadness, irritability and impatience.

The only way to reward yourself what you have been waiting for is to dump the weight!  The best way to shorten the wait is to retire the weight.  Get rid of the extra weight, the dead weight, the extra baggage that is holding you down.

Don’t you think that today is the day to lighten your load?
