Value in Competition

18 September 2008 No Comments

A lot of things that trip us up is the action that we take upon the thought that there is competition among us.

What I mean by this is that we sometimes make hasty decisions out of fear that someone else will get to the finish line first– and we want to be that first person to complete and achieve that certain something.

When we feel that someone else is competing against us, it is easy to become so completely wrapped up in the “game” that we won’t even recognize where we fall short. Through our action upon the thought of competition, the goal itself ends up as a disaster- because it became a rush job.

And it became a rush job because we try to get to the finish line first and “out-do” the other other person.

Make it a point to put in your mind today that there is no competition among you. If you try to abide by that one principle then whatever goals you set for yourself will be successfully achieved, through focus and the love of what you do. If you truly love what you do, then truly evaluate the value that competition holds in your life.

Know today that there is no value in competition- unless it is healthy competition. Competition really has no purpose unless it helps you to achieve your Highest Potential.
