Sticker On the Mirror
“Remove those ‘I want you to like me’ stickers from your forehead and, instead, place them where they truly will do the most good — on your mirror!” –SJ
Inner Princess is about helping you to build your self-esteem. In that, it is like your very own personal mirror that stares you right in the face, and helps you to see clearly your own reflection.
The sticker on your mirror named ‘Inner Princess’ is the plea, “I want you to like me.”
It is so easy to find flaws within yourself when you are surrounded by people who are so full of judgment.
What I’ve personally learned about life is that no matter what you do people will always find something that they don’t like about you. Even when you think you’ve met everyone’s standards, they will never be fully satisfied with you. The danger in that comes when you allow people’s judgments to affect how you feel about yourself.
Don’t get me wrong, we all search for opinions in others. However, the truth is, you have to be happy with you, and know that who you are right now is perfectly fine.
One thing I’d like you to remember is this: When you don’t like yourself, you lose yourself. When you don’t like yourself, you are not complete. When you don’t like yourself, you’re fragmented, only existing in broken pieces of what others put together of you.
In other words, when you don’t like yourself and look for others to like you instead, bits and pieces of you are fragmented and spread out among all those of who you seek approval. You become an assembled puzzle that everyone puts together of you.
Today, try to remember the sticker on the mirror. Learn to love the things that you already like about yourself. And, learn to like the things that you already don’t.
