A Single Step

“A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.”
–Lao-Tzu (Chinese Philosopher, 604 BC- 531 BC)

Any time you are starting something new – whether it’s a new relationship, a new job, a new family or a new hobby – it is always confusing where to begin.

Your head is spinning in a million directions; your mind is racing at top speed; you are completely out of control- and frantic, not knowing what to do first.

There is so much to do that you can’t even focus your attention on one particular task at a time! What should you do?

Write down everything there is that you must get done onto tiny pieces of paper. Fold the pieces of paper into really small squares. Place them inside of a hat and shuffle them. While keeping your eyes closed, reach over into the hat and pick the one piece of paper that “feels” right.

Whatever you wrote on that piece of paper that you picked is exactly where you are supposed to start first. That is where you begin your first single step. That is where you begin your journey.

Be sure to take the initiative and make that step towards your journey today. When you begin your stride, you won’t even notice how many steps you’ve actually taken. Not only will you conquer the thousand miles you first set out for, but you will conquer millions!

And, it all begins with just a single step.
